PPN Session(s)
Principal Partnership Networks (PPNs) are communities of practice for principals and charter school directors. PPNs recently launched across Utah. In this session, participants will learn all about PPNs through informal presentations from a variety of perspectives including USBE, PPN facilitators, and PPN participants. The session will include time for questions, discussion, and collaboration around principal support and professional learning.
Principal Supervisor Session
The majority of districts in Utah are utilizing principal supervisors to provide support to principals. In this session, participants will have the opportunity to review the research behind principal supervisor initiatives and to learn more about what this promising initiative currently looks like in Utah from a panel of district leaders actively involved in this work. The session will also include time for participants to collaborate with panel members and each other around different aspects of the principal supervisor initiative.

Lisa Young is the Educational Leadership Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education. She has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal. Her primary responsibility at USBE is to help develop and implement a cohesive system of supports and professional learning for school leaders. Current USBE school leadership initiatives include the launch of principal partnership networks, the development of a model principal mentoring system, and the introduction of collaborative learning opportunities for principal supervisors.
