Emily Jorgenson has been teaching struggling readers for over 20 years. She has Bachelor of Science in Mild/Moderate Special Education and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. She is certified in the Wilson Language Program and an Acadience mentor. She has been trained in LETRS and the Linda Mood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing Program and she recently completed a reading endorsement from Utah Valley University. Prior to moving to Wasatch School District, Emily worked in a self-contained learning center in Davis School District as a mild/moderate special education teacher. After seven years in that position, she moved back to her hometown of Midway and has worked at Heber Valley Elementary as a resource teacher, an intervention specialist and, most recently, a literacy coach. Some of her favorite educational topics include MTSS, struggling readers, explicit instruction, brain research, and evidence based practices for reading.
