He was transferred to North Sevier High School where he taught for a year and half.

He was hired as the principal of Cedar Ridge High School [alternative school] where he served for 7 years.  He served at Salina Elementary School as principal for 3 years and then served as the principal of North Sevier High School for 2 years.  He earned a Doctorate of Education in 2005 from Nova Southeastern University and that same year was hired by the Beaver County School District as the superintendent, where he has served for 14 years.

Ray has held numerous leadership positions including the President of Utah School Superintendents Association, the Utah Rural Schools Association and a member of the Board of Directors for UETN.

Under Ray’s leadership the Beaver County Schools have flourished.  He has helped Beaver County become one of the top performing school districts in the State of Utah.  Ray’s love of people and his leadership abilities have been the hallmark of his career.  His favorite part of being an educator has been seeing the progression of teaching and learning.  He believes that today’s teachers are the best in the profession.

Outside of education, Ray is the father of a blended family of 6 sons and 2 daughters and the proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren. His plans for retirement include traveling, fishing, camping and golf.

We congratulate Supt. Terry on his accomplishments and wish him a happy and healthy retirement!
